The appropriator and former gendarmerie intelligence chief, Victor Enrique Rei, tomorrow will expand its investigation, as he requested.
In his first statement to the Federal Court No. 6, less than a month, Rei tried to pull away from any involvement in the illegal repression of the 70, but fell into contradictions, to deny that participated in Operation Independence in Tucuman argued that the detention of the financiers of the Bank of Hurlingham, which was part, was made by order of Justice.
The defendant, On that occasion, nor provided any information on the procedural purpose of the case, ie ownership and replacement of identity of the missing son of Liliana Fontana and Pedro Sandoval. Only some sinister phrases worth quoting:
- "Even in Stalin's Russia was judged to someone thirty years later to adopt and raise an orphan."
- "If America were to prosecute all officers and noncommissioned officers who were brought in guys from Korea, Vietnam and Iraq, would have to triple the prisons."
- "Thirty years ago he killed Gustavo, my older son and I had fled, I would not be here by prescription. "
- "In this country, and now power is swinging the pendulum is on the left, but is slowly running to the other side."
- "I was not [any clandestine center] because they sent me, it would be cynical to say no if I had been ordered."
- "I will not answer questions about that [Caceres Monie, doctor who signed the false departure of Alejandro Sandoval Fontana] Alexander ... I will not talk."
is expected that this expansion of its investigation, Rei recognize something of everything that was tested during the trial. It is unlikely however, especially when so far failed to demonstrate signs of remorse or responsibility.
be recalled that at the request of REI, Alexander, the victim in the case, had to sit on the witness stand to defend his killer. The former policeman, of course, no thought of the psychological and legal consequences that this situation could generate Alejandro, otherwise he would not request his testimony.
Next Friday March 27, any of the allegations of the complaint and the prosecution, and later in date to be confirmed, we will come to the defense presenting its case.
