Oscar Nominations: First Look
After two years rather light, it seems that this year turns the brightness to the Oscars, but I fear that the predictability of the prizes will take over. Again the thing again be two . Without knowing the winners of the Screen Actors Guild and Directors, The king's speech and social network start with, a priori , much ahead of the rest. The
actors awards, which often give odd sustillo, seem awarded for Colin Firth and Natalie Portman in major categories. Not rule out completely, however, Annette Bening, at least not until you see what happens in the SAG. While looking in principle by Portman, the Academy will "be" a prize and a half to Bening, whose American Beauty Carolyn I have yet in the retina, and we know from experience (and if not being told Bening's own) which may be tipping in the fortnight prior to the gala. The
either side shocks have resulted. Despite its good performance, I do not think that the role of Mila Kunis in Black Swan Oscar winner out, so his absence almost welcomed me and everything. Very good reactions has led to recognition by Jacki Weaver Animal Kingdom, but I think it is remarkable the presence of new Amy Adams, now in its third nomination . Among the male candidates, Jeremy Renner save the honor of The Town , although the nomination is not surprising. The rest, more or less according to script. The
Christopher Nolan absence in the category of Best Direction has been my biggest disappointment. The work done in Inception , both visual and conceptual, deserved at least a place among the five finalists. Nolan becomes very complicated simple: combine the cinematic quality to the commercial value of what he shoots, but little has helped. Only managed a nomination for "proper" in 2001, Best Original Screenplay for Memento. A classic of academic disagreement, which in recent times has only comparison with the case DiCaprio. By the way, police court I think Inception not opt \u200b\u200bfor an Oscar for Best Editing. Anyway.
Another shock on me has seen the nomination for Javier Bardem , I secretly hoped for Ryan Gosling and his role in Blue Valentine. Bardem is a great actor, but I still think that the Academy voted him with some momentum. It wants to because I have not seen Biutiful , mostly because González Iñárritu is repeated a lot in his films and abuses of a formula that I do not seduce.
Something is hoped that scholars would recognize True Grit (True Grit ) which denied Globe, perhaps by the idiosyncrasy each of the awards. True Grit very Yankee, and it is good, although I personally do not seem so bad, while recognizing that Jeff Bridges is great and the cast is excellent.
One last thing: formula does not end the ten films curdling. Interesting as a commercial claim, it gives me feeling that there is much chaff, not the quality of the films, but because many are not puncture or cut the end of the day.
Although the Oscars will have more space here in the coming weeks, here is the full list nominations.
